Not Another (Romantic) Movie

We just finished watching What Women Want. Sheesh. I couldn't handle all the kissing and junk. I don't think I really like Mel Gibson either. Sheesh. I really like Helen Hunt, tho! I've been wanting to see the movie, tho, so now I know! Woo Hoo. Time for bed. The FOUR movies we watched tonight were fun. Sometimes hard to stay awake thru, but fun. We will be doing this again if anyone wants to join us next time!! Let's see if I can move, now.
'nite.
*Just so you know, I actually used spell check this morning so no one (like K) can complain about my spelling.*

Christmas Shopping

I am finally starting to catch up! YAY!!!!! I feel so far behind in my Christmas gift shopping. Sigh. But I think it is just because I have so many more friends that I want to shop for than I had last year. So exciting!!!! YAY!!!!! :-D
I usually avoid shopping the Day After Thanksgiving, but today I'm awesomely glad! I may be half done with my shopping now. Woo Hoo!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Today I was at Uncle Ren and Aunt Judy's for Thanksgiving.
Tonsa friends and family gathered together with tons of food!!!
After we ate and the younger folk cleaned up we watched Madagascar
and some James Bond movie while eating home made pies.
The last of us left at 11 after the movie ended.

Lotsa good food and friends to share it!

Playing with a ball after clean-up.

Playing with Hailey and Tigger.

Watching a James Bond movie.

Alligators

A joke from Rick (not either of my cousins):

Q. Can a flashlight protect you when you're being attacked by an alligator?

A. Depends on how fast you carry the flashlight.

Keith & Morgan

Mom and I went to Morgan's tonight for supper. Dad woulda gone, but he had to work...
It was so much fun!! We had subs and chips and dip and later french silk pie and ice cream.
Here are some pix (the rest are at Flickr):

Squirrels

Well, Janet has a hilarious post about squirrels. I have nothing else to say...maybe we could serve squirrel for Thanksgiving instead of turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Sand or Stone?

Two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"

The other friend replied "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

Take the time to live! Do not value the THINGS you have in your life. But value WHO you have in your life!

Pre-Thanksgiving

Tonight was another of Kristina's fun parties.
Here are the pictures.

Bible Study

Tonight bible study was awesome. Sammy, Caleb, and Jack joined us as we sang some great worship songs and then they even stuck around after the worship for the 'meat' of the study. Everyone was really into it last night. What did we do, you ask?

We watched Madagascar.

I have to say, every time I watch the movie, it gets funnier and funnier. Haha.

I finally got the pix up from Taco Night at Janet's.
Tomorrow night is Kristina's Pre-Thanksgiving Party. We will be having pizza. Watch for pictures later this week.

Twins?

At Deb's new job she has a couple friends she likes working with. Rick and Rob. Not 'my' Rick and Rob, but a different set. Craziness. It gets crazier when you meet Rick and notice how much him and Nick Ciske look alike. Craziness.

Took a quiz on the

and here is what they said 'bout me.

Spell Check

I wonder if they forgot to use spell check?

It is corrected now - but I wonder how many comments they got about it before it was changed.

Stressed Spelled Backwards

Spells 'Desserts'. Which is exactly what I'm gonna be looking for here shortly...maybe I will make French Silk Pie.

(BEWARE: Raging Rant ahead.)
I'm giving up on whole 'go with the flow' thing at work when people hand me stupid crap...I'm gonna started getting my super involved so things don't get anymore out of hand. If they wanna 'joke around' they better tell me they are, and that's fine; but still - there are some things that SHOULD NOT be joked about. I know that maybe some of it is just from everyone being stressed out right now from all the changes and new rules at work, but I have to deal with all that too, and everyone who likes giving crap seems to always send it my way. NO MORE! So there.
(End Raging Rant)

Anyway, on to a better topic...gas. It is under $2 by my house. How wacky is that? I can't remember the last time I saw it so cheap. (I could look in my gas/mileage book...but it's outside and it's cold.)I am wrapping my first Christmas gift of the season today. I'm way behind with my Christmas wrapping. Usually I'm done wrapping everyone's gifts by now, but this year I'm not even done shopping. Oh well. I'm sure I'll live. And I'm sure the people getting the gifts could care less when I wrapped them...but it is fun to have them sitting out to make people drool over them!!

I have shared too much today. I'm drained of energy to be nice anymore tonight. Goodnight.

Snow & Charlie

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory finally arrived today!!!! :-D
I'm so 'cited....

Here are the 'First Snow' pictures from today:

Out 'my' window at 6:30 am.

View from the lunch room.

Slow Snow

I made it to work! Despite the guy in front of me! Woo Hoo! The dude braked at everything little thing. I think he just plain likes his brakes. Not that I don't, but I also don't use them every 5 seconds. I never like the first snow for the fact that everyone drives stinking slow and I usually have to get to work. Today it only took 30 min. Good thing I was awake extra early and just decided to stay up...
Other than the having to drive in snow, I actually really like the stuff. Not that anyone would really know that by the way I talk about snow. But driving in snow is...bleck.
I will have to put pictures up after work of the First Snow.

Day of Fiascos

Ah. The tragedy. I had mom and dad falling of their chairs with laughter at supper. Again. As always.
Fiasco #1:
Every Day After Christmas, I go shopping and get Oma an angel ornament for her Christmas gift the following Christmas. This year I was informed thatwe were not exchanging gifts, so I pulled out the box to give to her early. I opened the box to make sure the ornament wasn't broken and packed it back up to give Oma when next I saw her. Well, today was the day...I gave Oma the box and she pulled out the tissue and...there was no ornament. Grrr. Where did it go? The big mystery of the week.

Mom thot this was hilarious. I felt even worse when she kept laughing harder and harder about the whole ordeal. IT WAS FUNNY THEN AND IT ISN"T FUNNY NOW!!!

Fiasco #2:
Mom made wonderful tacos for supper tonight. A priceless moment happened when Dad went to finish off the Tommy-Toes.
Dad picked up the shell and proceeded to start putting meat in it...then he looked down and saw: The Cardboard. You know - the little cardboard thing that they put in the box so the sheels don't get crushed (as easily).

The look on Dad's face was priceless. Woulda made an awesome picture.

Keith and Morgan are here now, Chow!

Mexifood

Last night after church Deb and I sped over to El Loro to scarf down some awesome tacos and enchiladas and (of course) fried ice cream. El Loro has quickly helped me live life happier because I finally found a Mexican restaurant that replaces ChiChi's wonderfully. And - they have awesome salsa. The only salsa I will consume. Yum! The only thing that El Loro needs now is the incredible corn cake that ChiChi's had...but I can make that at home, so life is good. I still have to try Flan.

Lost Music

I have a habit of losing things...or misplacing them in such an obvious place that I cannot find them. Example: The day Point of Grace's new CD came out this summer I bought it. I listened to it once and...have not found it since.
Today I made the huge mistake of going to Northwestern Books to re-purchase the CD. I had a coupon for 20% off that I was gonna use. Just get the CD and walk out. But before I found that CD...I saw the Christmas music display.
I love Christmas music. I listen to it year-round. So, as you may have guesses - I completely forgot about the CD that I went to get and started perusing the Christmas CD's. There are so many good new ones out this year! I have an ever-growing list of Christmas CDs that I want to get now. Sigh.
I walked out with $100 worth of Christmas music. And the Point of Grace CD. For only $58.02!!
(This story would probably have been better had I not gotten what I was after in the first place, but it was in the 'Christmas Stocking Stuffers' sale - I got it for $8.97 instead of the regular $17.98)

Apple Bread

Made some apple bread.
Got the mix from the apple orchard when Jess and I went.
It was good, but nothing special.

Working Cookies

Aren't Toaster Ovens wonderful? :-D

I just made us girls at work some fresh peanut butter cookies at work... yum!

Now, if only I had some milk to go with them!!

Twenty-Three

Keith is 23. Wow. We are all getting old...

Red Lobster was good. We got to meet Keith's girlfriend, Morgan. She is cool. It was great meeting her! I didn't even know Keith had a girlfriend til we arrived at Red Lobster and Mom told me. I'm glad Morgan came - she is a total blast. It will be fun getting to know her more!

After Red Lobster we all met at...Michael's. Keith, Morgan, Mom and I all hung out in the back section with all the scented oils and sampled all the scents while Dad got a frame and glass, paid for it, and brought it out to the car. It was fun.

Birthday Time

Today is Keith's (my brother) 23rd birthday. We are meeting him at Red Lobster for his birthday lunch. YAY!!!!
2 days to Charllie and the Chocolate Factory...I am so excited! :-) I'll be having another chocolate party (with not so much chocolate as last time) after Thanksgiving...more details later!

Another Pizza Party

Making pizzas with friends is always a fun activity. Tonight we were at Janet's making the delicacy. There was tons of food - we weren't able to eat it all! At first we weren't gonna have enuf, so we hit Rainbow and got more fixins. It was nice to be able to hang out with friends and not do anything, just sit and talk and laugh with and at each other. We'll have to do this more often. Fun times.

(Married) Couples Night

So, I took a whoppin 7 pictures tonight...was too busy with Hailey! Poor honey, she's got a cold so wanted mama most of the night. She was alright later, but maybe that was the medicine kicking in. Once Hailey went to bed and Ezra was happily settled in with Sandy Russell, I took my leave...since I'm not married and I was at a Married Couples Night!! (I think it was a success, Gretchen!)

Unbusiness

This week has been unbusy. Very nice. I have literally come home from work, gone to bed, get up in time for work, home to bed...you get the picture. Tonight will be fun, tho! I get to babysit Hailey and Ezra...such cute little munchkins!! Pictures will come later...but for now, food. :-)
