Corny Shopping Ahead...

Tonight I was given a gift card as a thank you gift to a store I've never heard of before! So, I hopped on the web to check it out....there is some pretty fun stuff! I believe it will be a blast going to the store to shop. Here are a few items of note that I saw on the website:

Well, now Anna is not the only one who can sport a new nose!
Tho, I'm sure Anna's will look more real...
Now you, too, can sound Irish - whether you are or not!!
Are your cuts hungry? Feed them bacon!!
This is my laugh for the night....tomorrow is a busy day, as I am staying at Katie's until the basement is put back together, new carpet in the guest room and all!

For tonight, I will be crawling over and under items strewn about in an attempt to find my room. If all else fails, I will sleep in my car for the night.

(No, it isn't as bad as all that, just overly messy. TOO overly messy! I am not the cleanest person around, but this mess is too large and has been around too long. I can not take it anymore! Agggggg......see me heading to the funny farm!)

New Shoes

It’s amazing how a new pair of shoes can lift a girl’s spirit.

Amazing

Shirley Temple.
Reminds me of a little girl, not a 79-year-old!

Finally!

Sanjaya is gone from Idol. And I missed it. Bummer.
Now Chuck & Jon have nothing to talk about in the mornings
on BOB106 (FM) (AWESOME Country radio station!!!!!!!)

At least, out of all this, Sanjaya got a hair cut....
........it didn't help his singing, tho.....

Two Huge Annoyances

They may even be called pet peeves. They both have to do with my iPod and computer.

1. When I have the 'Open iTunes when iPod connects' unchecked, why does iTunes still pop up? It's quite annoying, and messes me up when I'm in the middle of other stuff.

2. Why can't the backlight timer just stay off like I want it to? Why does it keep resetting itself to 10 seconds after I recharge the iPod? This happens every day. grrr.

3. (Yes I can count, I just remembered this one!) I think for some reason the clicker wheel thing is not fully working anymore. I can't shut the iPod off immediately. It has to sit and use up battery waiting to shut off. Which sometimes has been 10-15 minutes. I tries resetting the iPod, which helped somewhat with the long times for it to shut off, but I still have trouble shutting it off right away. GAK.

I hate cleaning, which is why I am sitting at the computer instead of cleaning, getting ready for our company who is arriving (if thy come) Thursday night. sigh.

Found this in some class notes from work:

The Customer is Always Right
One day Suzy was fishing and caught one perch. Since this one fish was not enough to feed her and her parents, she decided to give it to her cats, Moe and Peters. She prepared it for Moe and Peters (2 very pampered cats!) and set it in their dish. After sniffing at the fish for a minute (possibly Jordan's minute), they stuck their noses in the air and refused to eat the fish. After thinking for a minute (a shorter minute than the cats) Suzy ran the electric can opener, to which Moe and Peters came running and ate that same perch up in a jiffy.

So, now I really need to get back to cleaning so I can go to bed tonight!!

New Minnesota Airline

WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE LUTRAN AIR IS NOW OPERATING IN MINNYSOTA. ALSO SERVING VISCONSIN, NORT AND SOUT DAKOTA.

If you are travelin soon, consider Lutran ( Lutheran ) Air, da no-frills airline. You're all in da same boat on Lutran Air, where flyin is a upliftin experience.

Dere is no first class on any Lutran Air flight. Meals are potluck. Rows 1-6, bring rolls; 7-15, bring a salad; 16-21, a main dish, and 22-30, a dessert. Basses and tenors please sit in da rear of da aircraft.

Everyone is responsible for his or her own baggage. All fares are by free will offering and da plane will not land 'til da budget is met. Pay attention to your flight attendant, who will acquaint you wit da safety system aboard dis Lutran Air.

Okay den, listen up. I'm only gonna say dis vonce. In da event of a sudden loss of cab in pressure, I am frankly going to be real surprised and so vill Captain Olson, because we fly right around two tousand feet, so loss of cabin pressure would probably mean da Second Coming or something of dat nature, and I wouldn't bodar with doze liddle masks on da rubber tubes. You're gonna have bigger tings to worry about den dat. Just stuff doze back up in dair little holes. Probably da masks fell out because of turbulence which, to be honest wit you, we're going to have quite a bit of at two tousand feet, sort a like driving across a plowed field, but after a while you get used to it.

In da event of a water landing, I'd say forget it. Start saying da Lord's Prayer and just hope you get to da part about forgive us our sins as we forgive doze who sin against us, which some people say 'trespass against us,' which isn't right, but what can you do?

Da use of cell phones on da plane is strictly forbidden, not because day may confuse da plane's navigation system, which is seat of da pants all da way. No, it's because cell phones are a pain in da wazoo, and if God meant you to use a cell phone, He would have put your mout on da side of your head.

We start lunch right about noon and it's buffet style with da coffee pot up front. Den we'll have da hymn sing; hymnals are in da seat pocket in front of you. Don't take yours wit you when you go or I am going to be real upset and I am not kiddin!

Right now I'll say Grace:
Come, Lord Jesus, be our guest and let deze gifts to us be blessed. Fadar, Son, and Holy Ghost, may we land in Dulut or pretty close.
Amen
Today is Passover. And, technically, Wednesday! (I get Good Friday off this year!!!)

Daddy's Poem

Her hair was up in a pony tail,
Her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
And she couldn't wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
If she went to school alone.

But she was not afraid;
She knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
Of why he wasn't there today.

But still her mother worried,
For her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
She tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school
Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees
A dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,
For everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
Anxious in their seats

One by one the teacher called
A student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
As seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
Every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
For a man who wasn't there.

"Where's her daddy at?"
She heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one,"
Another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
She heard a daddy say,
"Looks like another deadbeat dad,
Too busy to waste his day."

The words did not offend her,
As she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
Who told her to go on
And with hands behind her back,
Slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
Came words incredibly unique.

"My Daddy couldn't be here,
Because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
Since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy,
And how much he loves me so.
He loved to tell me stories
He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
And taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
And ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him.
I'm not standing here alone.

"'Cause my daddy's always with me,
Even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
He'll forever be in my heart"
With that, her little hand reached up,
And lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,

And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,
Her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
Who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love
Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
Doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
But its message clear and loud.

"I love my daddy very much,
he's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here,
But heaven's just too far.

You see he is a Marine
And died just this past year
When a roadside bomb hit his convoy
And taught Americans to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it's like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes,
And saw him there that day.

And to her mothers amazement,
She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
All starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
Who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
They saw him at her side.

"I know you're with me Daddy,"
To the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
Of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
For each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
Was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing,
That heaven is never too far.
